Back on the bike…

It’s been a while. And whilst I don’t want this to be a post about why I’ve not cycled or blogged, I guess there has to be a nod towards it. Life can get busy can’t it? House building, family, very painful plantar fasciitis  all have added to the drought of bike riding and blogging for months…

So what now? I’ve had a few trips out – enjoying the last of the lighter evenings and warm autumnal weather – my favourite time of the year.  I’ve revisited my old routes, and enjoyed the freedom and energy being back on the bike has delivered.

happy to be back in the saddle?

What has kept me going is walking, and lots of it.

I was given one of these for my birthday just a couple of weeks ago and it has been one of the best exercise gadgets I’ve ever had..so far!

I’m going to do a full review in a future post but after just a couple of weeks I’ve found it helps to encourage me to be active consistently throughout the day, it’s little buzz telling me to move and a need to get my 10k steps each day is a motivator.

The 25k steps yesterday may have gone some way to off-setting the pizza and red wine from last night…

  1. I’m glad you’re back on the bike. I would have thought that cycling would be good for plantar fasciitis – at least better than walking. At any rate, there’s nothing worse than being force out of the saddle.

    Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thanks Bill, I think I was going to SPIN class too much and this aggravated it, anyhow it’s much better now. First thing in the morning was the worst time for pain though.
